The Second Meeting of the CARICC Council |

On December 8, 2009 the Second Meeting of the CARICC Council (Management board) was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The meeting was attended by the Council members from the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, CARICC and observers from the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan. CARICC Director Mr. Beksultan Sarsekov was elected as the Chairman of the Council. During the meeting the Council members approved the decision to grant the observer status at CARICC to the Republic of Austria, Canada, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the United States of America and the Federal Republic of Germany. Earlier, the observer status was granted to Italy, France, Finland and Interpol.

Meeting with BKA Delegation |

On October 28, 2009 delegation of BKA Germany, led by the Head of BKA Department for Countering Drug business Mr. Dufner, visited CARICC. The Representative of BKA Germany in Tashkent Mr.Ringle, BKA commissioner Mr. Shreder and UNODC Senior project Coordinator Mr. Murshudlu also participated in the meeting. Mr. Dufner delivered an official request of Germany for the observer status at CARICC, in which a competent agency and a focal point for cooperation with CARICC were defined. The participants shared information on the recent achievements of the organisations, actual situation and planned activities for the nearest future. As Mr. Dufner noticed, BKA was willing to develop close cooperation with CARICC, including practical cooperation and intelligence exchange.
