Meeting at UNODC Headquarters

During participation of CARICC delegation in the 69th Session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs a meeting was held with Mr. Jeremy Milsom, Chief of Regional Section for Europe, West and Central Asia at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) on 9 March 2026. 

During the meeting parties discussed relevant topics related to development and strengthening of cooperation between CARICC and UNODC, including support for regional initiatives aimed at countering modern forms of illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors.

Special attention was given to expanding cooperation in the areas of analytical studies, information exchange, and implementation of joint projects and programs aimed at enhancing effectiveness of combating transnational drug crime in the Central Asian region.

CARICC Director also provided information on the Centre's current priorities, measures to develop its analytical and coordination capacity, and initiatives aimed at strengthening regional cooperation between law enforcement agencies of participating countries.

Upon conclusion parties confirmed mutual interest in further strengthening partnership, developing practical forms of cooperation, and implementing joint measures aimed at enhancing regional and international security in the field of combating illicit drug trafficking.
