CARICC participated in a professional development course on digital technologies in investigation of cyber and drug crimes

Law Enforcement Academy under the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan is holding a professional development course from 29 June to 3 July 2026 for investigators, prosecutors and operational staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Financial Monitoring Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the topic “Digital Technologies in Investigation and Supervision of Cyber and Drug Crime Cases”.

CARICC Advisor A. Erkaboev participated in an online event and delivered a presentation on “AI-Based Early Warning System to Counter Drug Threat in CARICC Member States” on 1 July 2026.

The presentation highlighted modern approaches to applying artificial intelligence technologies for early detection of new drug threats, analysis of large datasets, forecasting of trends in drug situation and enhancing effectiveness of interstate information exchange. Particular attention was paid to the Concept for Creation of a Unified Interstate Early Warning System for Drug Threats Based on Artificial Intelligence Technologies, which is being developed by CARICC in collaboration with participating countries and international partners.

Course attendees showed a keen interest in practical examples of how digital technologies and artificial intelligence can be put to use in law enforcement, noting importance of implementing innovative solutions to boost effectiveness of countering drug trafficking and related cybercrimes.

Participation of CARICC representatives in training events helps strengthen professional cooperation with competent authorities of participating countries, promote exchange of best practices and advance development of modern digital tools in tackling drug crime.
