Meeting of CARICC experts discussing preparations for a regional event on NPS

CARICC experts held a working meeting with Mr. Duishen Talasbaev, Central Asia Regional Officer for the Global Rapid Interdiction of Dangerous Substances (GRIDS) Programme of the International Narcotics Control Board (INCB), as part of preparations for a regional event on new psychoactive substances (NPS).
During the meeting parties discussed organizational and substantive aspects of the Regional Working Group on NPS event scheduled for 17–18 June 2026 in Almaty.
It was noted that the event will be organized under the INCB's GRIDS Programme in cooperation with CARICC and the National Interagency Targeting Center of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with participation of relevant government agencies from countries in the region.
Particular attention was paid to coordinating interaction, setting the event agenda, and facilitating participation of representatives from law enforcement agencies in Central Asian countries and Pakistan.
Upon conclusion, parties reaffirmed their interest in further strengthening cooperation and expressed willingness to work together to make the upcoming event a success.
