Online meeting between representatives of CARICC and the Research Institute of Criminology of the Republic of Uzbekistan

An online meeting was held on 29 April 2026 between representatives of CARICC and the Research Institute of Criminology of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting parties explored prospects for building and developing mutually beneficial cooperation in the fields of information analysis and research, and exchanged views on ways to strengthen criminological efforts in light of current challenges and trends in combating illicit drug trafficking.

Particular attention was paid to priority areas for development of advantageous collaboration, application of modern digital technologies and artificial intelligence, conducting systematic analysis and crime forecasting, and development of scientific and practical research aimed at devising effective response measures.

Parties expressed a reciprocal interest in expanding partnership, including joint research initiatives, exchange of analytical reports on drug crime, and methodological approaches in this area.

The meeting confirmed commitment to further developing partnership between CARICC and the Research Institute of Criminology of the Republic of Uzbekistan, including in the context of achieving objectives set forth in national and regional programs related to public safety and countering drug crime.

Both sides agreed to continue practical interaction and work out specific areas of cooperation in accordance with established procedures.
