XIX Meeting of Heads of Anti-Terrorism Units of Competent Authorities of CIS Countries

XIX Meeting of Heads of Central Departments of Competent Authorities for Combating Terrorism of Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) began on 9–10 June 2026 in the capital of the Russian Federation. The event became an important platform for coordinating efforts to counter global terrorist threats and their interrelated manifestations.

CARICC delegation led by Director M. Khamidov is attending the forum. CARICC's participation underscores the importance of combining information and analytical resources of international and regional organizations to enhance effectiveness of counterterrorism efforts in the region.

Speakers at the opening ceremony of the meeting included heads of the Anti-Terrorism Center of the CIS Member States (CIS ATC), Executive Committee, Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Executive Committee of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO RATS) and Department for New Challenges and Threats of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting participants will discuss recent developments in operational landscape, develop joint approaches to countering the ideology of terrorism and extremism and identify priority areas for further strengthening cooperation among competent authorities of participating countries.
